Big Lynn Lodge

I did not stay at the Lodge however I attended a Knitting Event there. The Lodge is just down the street from my home, so I pass it every day. I have eaten there many times at the restaurant (great food) and the location is fabulous with fantastic views of our Mountains here in Little Switzerland. The rooms must be great, as I rarely see the place empty. And if the cars are an indication of the clientele I see Porsches, Corvettes, BMW's, and I even saw a Bentley one time. Highly recommend the Big Lynn Lodge as a place to stay when you visit Little Switzerland and Spruce Pine.

Big Lynn has the most picturesque views of the blue ridge mountains, the best stargazing spots, and the nicest hosts ever! When you first arrive, you’re greeted by friendly and accommodating service. The rooms are nice and clean and the view is breathtaking. The dining hall was cozy and had a great lookout point as well as yummy and comforting food. Make sure you bring s’more supplies because they are prefect by the fire pit at night.

My wife and I have always wanted a home away from home, a small place in the mountains where we could retreat from the daily grind and just relax with no pressure to be anywhere or do anything-- a true vacation. Our vacation started off at an inn lower on the mountain at Little Switzerland, but as we drove higher we noticed this unassuming little village of small cabins and inn space. But what caught our eye was the view. This place overlooks a slice of heaven, nestled right in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. It truly must be seen to be appreciated. We stopped and visited with the hosts for awhile and left knowing that we'd be finishing up our vacation here. It felt like we'd been hangin out with family, the good side, all afternoon. The cabins are quaint, no frills, and a quiet place to relax and rest up from your travels. Hoyt is the man. He cooks for both meals, and does an excellent job at it. You read that right. This place serves two meals a day, breakfast and dinner, complimentary with your stay. Can't say enough about Hoyt, but he makes this place seem like a home away from home and is very accommodating, making sure that all your needs, within reason, are met with a smile. We look forward to becoming a couple "regulars" as we plan on coming back every year from now on.
